The big hearted filly Florescent Star was far too strong at Sale today winning the Carlton Draught Fillies & Mares BM70 over 1205m.
In a small field of 6, Dean Holland jumped the daughter of Zoustar to the front and dictated the race with the field stacked up behind her.
The heavily backed favourite Lindhout was sitting behind Flo Star throughout and ducked back to the fence at the 200m when Flo laid out in the straight, and it looked like the favourite would challenge for the win. Flo pinned her ears back and toughed it out in the run to the post to win by 0.2 of a length, holding the favourite at bay for the last furlong and she never looked like she would ever get beat.
That was her toughest win in her short career of 7 starts, that has now notched up 3 wins and 3 placings.
She deserves her shot at city class now, having done as much as she can at the provincials!
