Splitter & Jimmy Byrne

Splitter & Jimmy Byrne, please take a bow!

Splitter dominated via a 10 out of 10 ride today at Ipswich in winning the @IpswichTurfClub Class 3 Handicap over 1350m.

From an outside barrier Splitter settled into a lovely rhythm outside the leader after 200m, while her main danger Francisca drifted back in the field.

It was very apparent before the turn that Jim Byrne was controlling the race on Splitter, and he made his move at the top of the straight and dashed 3 lengths clear, and once she extended never looked in danger of losing, winning by 1.3 lengths with the favourite flashing home late although never looking likely.

Jimmy judged the pace early, had Splitter in the gun position to pounce, and made the race their own entering the straight, it was a very comfortable watch!

Splitter now takes her record to 3 wins and 5 seconds from 14 starts, and looks to be progressing thru the grades comfortably, with plenty more to come.

She is now setup to go back to city grade, and looks quite capable at that level.
