Splitter Breaks through

splitter breaks through again!

Splitter recorded her 2nd career win today at Ipswich in the Qld Times Filles & Mares BM65 over 1200m.

At her second run this prep and up in grade, after being narrowly beaten first up, Splitter was able to produce the goods to win under a very good ride by local jockey Brad Stewart.

From barrier 5, Brad had her parked in the box seat throughout, stalking the good strong pace being set by the 2 leaders. He sooled her up before the turn, so that he was ready to pounce at the top of the straight, and once he balanced her up, she took over from the leaders, and held off a couple of the finishers to win.

Splitter has been a model of consistency during her 11 start career, finishing 2nd 5 times before today, so it was great to see her breakthrough for a win early in her prep this time.

Splitter is still a 3yo, and she could find herself tackling city grade before she turns 4yo at the end of this month.

An exciting winter prep is still ahead for this daughter of Foxwedge!
