Open Minded rocked Caulfield on Australia Day winning the Listed John Dillon Stakes over 1400m beating the previously unbeaten Lighthouse!
Open Minded jumped to the lead again from the start with Damien Thornton back in the saddle
As he carved out some strong sectionals, he started to up the pace from the 600m and had his rivals struggling to hold onto his pace as he kicked off the bend into the straight.
He again kicked 3 lengths clear at the top of the straight and it was only the hot favoruite who was able to make take some ground off him in the last 200m but was still a length short at the first, as the big group of Dreamers were screaming him home!!
It was a brilliant win in class record time of 1.22.33, 6.6 lengths above the benchmark as he crossed the line.
