I Am Immortal took another giant step towards the Group 1 Blue Diamond in 2 weeks time, with a strong win in the Group 3 Colts & Geldings division of the Blue Diamond Prelude at Caulfield on Saturday.
The 2yo son of I Am Invincible made it 2 stakes wins in a row, and proved he was a leading contender heading into the big dance on 23 February.
He did it hard at both ends, leading the field out in a very solid pace, and holding off all the challengers down the 350m straight.
He will be the horse they all have to run down in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes, and it will be a nerve racking race to see if he can withhold the charge of the closers in 2 weeks time.
We know he is strong and capable and the test will be to see if he can extend his determination out the extra 100m to the 1200m of the Group 1 race.
