Heywood bounces back!

Heywood kicked off his new prep with new trainers in winning fashion today at Colac.

From the outside barrier Johnny Allen pushed him forward from the jump, to take the lead, and from there he controlled the tempo throughout.

Stacking them up before the turn, he pushed the button around the final turn and skipped clear to win convincingly by 2 lengths in course record time, leaving the hot pot favourite in his wake.

It was a shock to most punters with a betting drift to $19 from his opening quote of $6, but he was never in danger once he found the front early.

He seems back to the promising form he showed as a 4yo in the Spring of 2022.
