Amathuba took a big step at Randwick on the Kensington track today when he met a small but highly touted 3yo fillies.
From the inside barrier and ridden by Tim Clark, she followed the leader and was travelling well within herself and just peeled off the leaders back when they turned into the straight and exploded to the lead and sprinted away from the field and win by 4 lengths, bursting a few bubbles behind her.
It was just rewards for the daughter of Pride of Dubai after she had been so consistent in her career to date.
It was only her second career win, but proved that she has the ability to compete at city class in her own right.
It will be exciting to see if she can repeat that effort next start in Saturday city grade.
