Batting Above, Derby bound!

Batting Above made it back to back wins today at Murray Bridge in the BM58 over 2500m.

The 3yo son of So You Think proved his staying prowess with a strong tough win.

Ryan Hurdle had him sitting outside the pace in the run, relaxed with his head on his chest. mid-race.

When the runs started to present from the 600m, Batting Above was poised to challenge the leader as they approached the turn.

There were many challenges, and although he was slightly headed in the straight, he rallied back and came away from his rivals in the last 100m to win strongly, running away from his rivals.

This win puts him onto a SA Derby path. The SA Derby run at Morphettville in May is still a long way off, but he will be a very fit hors by the time the Derby comes around, and we know he will run out a strong 2500m now after today’s win!
