savvy finish to 2017!

Savvy Shields made it 2 wins from 3 starts with a dominant win at Stony Creek on Saturday in the Polvin Fencing Systems F&M BM64 Handicap over 1100m.

That makes it 2 wins from 2 first up runs for Savvy.

She was a little slow to begin, but she kicked up underneath her rivals to lead the field down the back. Jye McNeil allowed her some more rein approaching the turn, and she skipped away from the field, and held them comfortably once she opened up and lengthened in the last 100m to win by 2 lengths.

A soft kill, but a dominant win.

A filly that will keeping developing as she gains more race experience, and she will try and get another BM64 kill before she tackles city grade.

A nice way to end 2017, which has been our most successful year to date, with 11 wins, 10 seconds and 3 thirds from our 39 starts, a 28% winning strike rate, and a 61% place strike rate, and a Group 1 placing.

Can’t wait for 2018!
