I Am Immortal the striking son of I Am Invincible stamped himself as a leading Blue Diamond contender with an all the way win in the Listed Blue Diamond Prelude for colts and geldings on Saturday at Caulfield.
Coming into his first race off the back of 2 impressive trial wins, I Am Immortal was heavily supported in betting to start 2nd favourite against previous race winner Microphone.
The only question mark was he able to sustain it under raceday pressure, and he proved that he was the real deal!
He carved out some very quick early sectionals, and had his rivals off the bit entering the straight, and kick hard for him at the 200m to hold his rivals at bay by a length in quick time of 57.37 secs.
He will now proceed to the Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude over 1100m as his last leadup run before the Group 1 Blue Diamond on 23 February
The Dream Team issued their customary Dream Scream in the straight on Saturday, and the roars were deafening but joyous amongst the Dreamers!
