Ruby Sea broke her maiden status at Cranbourne on Friday night in strong fashion.

At only her 3rd ever race start, Ruby Sea was a strongly fancied favourite, and delivered a strong performance to win the Highview Accounting 3yo Fillies Maiden Handicap over 1400m ridden by Linda Meech

Ruby Sea jumped out well, and Linda Meech allow her to settle back of midfield with cover in the 3 wide line. The pace was good, and around the 500m point Linda asked her to make up ground out wide to be challenging the leaders around the turn. As the leader kicked for home, Ruby Sea was the only challenger, and she spritned hard at the 100m to take over the lead and win strongly going away on the line.

The win was celebrated hard by a big bunch of owners on track, and watching around Australia, and signified the first win for our racing partnership with Ciaron Maher.

Ruby Sea looks to be a filly with plenty of promise going forward and the Rivette Series for 3yo fillies will be her target during the winter.
