Magnette scored her maiden win in the Porter Plant Fillies & Mares Maiden Plate over 1000m at Ballarat today.

It has been a long overdue win for the Magnus filly after some encouraging yet unlucky runs at her previous 4 starts.

She was up against older aged mares and had the outside barrier to overcome.

Chris Parnham took the ride, and settled her off the pace down the side, before pushing her forward to challenge wide out in the straight.

She took a while to wind up, but once she got her momentum going, she charged down the outside, to take the lead 50m out and coast comfortably to the line to win by half a length.

Magnette has showed us alot of promise in her first 5 starts, and with the race winning experience behind her now, she will continue to improve.

She could feature in the upcoming Spring with many 3yo fillies races spread throughout.

Her win was the first win between the Dream Team and Wez Hunter Racing, and with 7 horses in work with Wez, we look forward to a fruitful partnership together.

Magnette at Ballarat provided the best Father's Day present we could wish for!
