Fruehling won the $22.5K Showcase 0-68 Handicap over 2000m at Werribee today.

Yet again he was last out of the barriers, but he was given plenty of time to settle at the back of the field, and get himself into a nice rhythm, as the leaders set a stop start type of pace up front.

At the 800m point, Daniel Moor felt he was travelling nicely enough that he allowed him to travel up 3 deep around the field, Daniel felt he was always travelling like a winner, and wanted to give him every chance to extend his stride. Approaching the turn, Daniel allowed Fruehling to range up to the leaders 3 wide, and he quickly hit the front around the turn.

A couple of horses, looked like they may issue a challenge at the 200m point, but once Fruehling balanced up he ran away from them to win easily on the line by 3.5 lengths.

Daniel Moor stated that he felt alot better than his first exciting win at Sandown. He is still a little baby, and is learning all the time, but has lots of scope to improve as the distances get even longer.

He has a pedigree that will thrive over distances of 2400m and beyond, and we look forward to many more exciting wins from him.
