Chosen Moment wins and makes it 3 from 3!

Chosen Moment won the Southern Cross Ten Handicap over 1000m for 2yos at Bendigo on saturday 17/3/12.

Bendigo's inaugural Golden Mile raceday was the main metropolitan race meeting in Melbourne this weekend, and the Bendigo Jockey Club presented a well organised and very professional run event.

Ridden by Craig Newitt, he jumped from the barriers, and settled on the rails behind the two leaders. Craig bidded his time behind the leaders until turning into the straight, where he moved Chosen Moment out 3 wide around the leaders. Once out, Craig gave Chosen Moment a couple of slaps with his whip and Chosen Moment  knuckled down to the task of reeling in the leaders over the last 200m. Chosen Moment got the better of the leader with 100m to go, and coasted to the line for the final 30m of the race to win by 2.5 lengths.

After the race, Craig Newitt said that he was very impressed with Chosen Moment, and believes he will be a better horse over a slightly long distance. He also said that he should measure up and become a very good 3yo.

Anthony Freedman was very happy with Chosen Moment's performance, and said that he looked like he could stretch out eventually to 1400m, which will open up alot more opportunities for him as he matures.

Chosen Moment made it 2 winners in a week for Dream Thoroughbreds after the win of Flirtatious at Terang during the week. He also made it 3 winners from 3 runners for Dream Thoroughbreds after Comic Ruler's win last year at Ballarat.

That provides Dream Thoroughbreds with a 100% strike rate winners to runners.

Chosen Moment was selected and purchased from the 2011 Gold Coast Magic Millions yearling sale by Anthony Freedman for Dream Thoroughbreds.
